Four Blue Hills.
I finally had three consecutive full studio days and had so much fun developing new things in my work! I think some of that fun came from listening to episodes of The Secret Stash and Tell ‘em Steve-Dave podcasts while painting and being able to take breaks with Spring in full tow.

For those not already following the website I have been building a series of 5x7 inch paintings. I have made several I enjoy that unfortunately do not coalesce well with the remaining pieces. This is one of them, which went through so many different stages that it’s hard to believe the surface isn’t completely cracked and muddied (we are talking about watercolor paint on a flat, smooth, toothless paper surface.)

Sketchbook pages 19-22.

A new website is being made! Deceptively Simple now gathers a bunch of other things discovered/created/assembled during the painting process.

I was in scissors mode while working on collage today. I salvaged some parts from failed painting attempts and placed them in my sketchbook.
